"where the wild roses grow..."

Secondly I had the pleasure to discover Parisian Chic this week! My definition of Parisian chic is when a person simply knows how to dress; knowing what suits best, understanding to combine colour, tone, cut and quality to create the ultimate chic but in a subtle more sophisticated way. It is the person itself who creates Parisian chicness...

The Name:     Donna
The Title:    Associate Dean Fashion

Coat:                    Gap
Scarf:                   a gift
Cardigan:                Uniqlo
Trousers:                Cos
Socks:                   Uniqlo
Shoes:                   Barkers
Earrings:                independent jewelery shop in London

Shopping destination: Margaret Howell (usually in the sale!), YMC, Uniqlo, Agnes B, Cos - I discovered it a few years ago and it changed my life
(Ahhh me too! though just discovered it thanks to Tim!)

Motto: Dress to please yourself not others.

Favourite designer: I make no secret about being a big Margaret Howell fan. Her clothes work for people over 40 and over size 8 and are of a high quality in every possible way. I also admire Nicholas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, Jonathan Saunders, APC, Marni, Jean Pierre Braganza, Aminaka Wilmont...

Most influential person in fashion: Often the people who wear the clothes are more influential than the people who design them and I fear that it may be Kate Middleton, with her sister coming a close second!

London Secret tip: Where shall I start ....
SCP – Curtain Road EC2 – furniture and designery things
Labour and Wait – Cheshire Street, E2 – pots and pans etc.
Maragaret Howell – Wigmore Street W1 – I could happily live there!
John Lewis – Oxford Street W1 – especially the food hall ....
...Which brings me on to food...there is so much choice but if you love a cake- Maison Bertaux – Greek Street W1– fantastic French cream cakes in a bohemian Soho setting.
South London Gallery – Peckham – great gallery with, importantly, a great café.
Dulwich Picture Gallery – the most beautiful gallery in London with a great permanent collection.

New years resolution: Learn to tap dance. Its almost the end of January and I’ve not even taken the DVD Tim let me borrow out of the box!

I say: We love to be headed by such sophisticated chicness!!!
